HICKORY HILLS, IL -- A man who swore at a group of Muslim teens and made derogatory statements about their religion in a Hickory Hills restaurant on Monday remains unidentified. Police are investigating the incident as a possible hate crime.
The group of girls, attired in headscarves, were leaving Pepe’s Restaurant in Hickory Hills, following their evening meal after the Ramadan fast, Sawin Osman, 17, told Yahoo News. The unidentified middle-aged man starts hurling racial slurs at the teens as they passed his table, stating: “That girl is so big she could break a camel’s back."
When one of the girls pulled out her cell phone and started recording the conversation, the man lapses into a racist rant, mocking the teens.

“You can go and beat it. If you don’t like this country, leave,” the man said.
Another friend confronted the man, saying, “It’s our home too. What do you mean leave?”
After the man is heard making another comment about their friend’s size, one of the girls told him, “you’re disgusting.”
The man stood up and screamed “camel-jacking [expletive] [expletive].”
The girls said they became scared the man might get physical so they left. The man was dining with a woman, seen sitting at his table.
