New Richards band director a Grammy quarterfinalist
Ponce among 200 nominated for Music Educator of the Year!
Recently the Grammy Foundation announced the 212 teachers from across the United States to become quarterfinalists for the 2024 Music Educator of the Year. Felix Ponce, the new band director at Richards High School, has been named to this prestigious list.
Mr. Ponce joins his high school band director, Dr. Justin Antos from Eisenhower High School, among the 200 quarterfinalists. Mr. Ponce served as band director at Back of the Yards High School in Chicago before arriving at Richards.
He will launch his first marching band camp at Richards next Monday.
