Nurse Had Sex with Cardiac Patient Prepping for Transplant: Lawsuit
Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and the nurse are being sued in Cook County for $150,000.

As a man awaited heart transplant surgery at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, a nurse came into his room and “initiated unsolicited sexual relations, including intercourse” with him, according to a lawsuit against the hospital and the nurse.
The husband and wife filed the suit Monday in Cook County, claiming the sexual episode took place on Oct. 12, 2012, while the man was a patient in the cardiac care unit. They are seeking $150,000 in damages.

Christ Medical Center’s cardiology and heart surgery unit is nationally ranked, according to U.S. News.
The suit states that the man was medicated and being prepped for his heart transplant when the nurse initiated the sexual contact. The nurse “had a propensity to initiate unauthorized physical contact with patients,” according to the lawsuit.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the Illinois Department of Professional and Financial Regulation reprimanded “a nurse of the same name” for failing to disclose she’d previously been fired from a nursing job “for crossing professional boundaries with a patient.”
