Oak Lawn Arts Commission Accepting Applications for Acorn Program
Be part of the monumental public arts movement in Oak Lawn by purchasing an acorn for your school, business or organization.

OAK LAWN, IL -- If you’ve seen the painted acorns around the village, the Oak Lawn Arts Commission is offering another chance to become part of this monumental public arts movement. Applications are being taken until Sept. 15 to sponsor an acorn for your business, school or organization.
The 4-foot fiberglass acorns -- modeled after Chicago’s famous Cow Parade and Tinley Park’s annual bench sculptures -- will be placed in front of businesses and other prominent locations throughout Oak Lawn when completed.
The acorns cost $1,000 to reserve and cast this fall. Checks should be made payable to the Oak Lawn Service Corporation.

The Arts Commission will provide an artist, if needed, as well as guidelines for images for your acorn. Interested artists and groups are available, or interested sponsors can arrange for their own artists or groups to paint their acorns.
Following the decorating, the acorns will be on public display and then removed for final seal coating. The acorns will be moved to a location of your choice.
