Oak Lawn Community High Now Has An Esports Team

The school's Video Gaming Club now has a competitive e-sports team. And they're really impressive!

The Video Gaming Club now has a competitive e-sports team. And, they're really impressive!

OLCHS earned second place in the Overwatch® Community Play-In Tournament central division hosted by North America Scholastic ESports Federation. OLCHS Spartans competed against numerous high schools across the Midwest, playing the final matches against the Gretna High School Dragons from Gretna, Nebraska.

According to the North America Scholastic ESports Federation website, the group's mission is to provide opportunities for ALL students to use esports as a platform to acquire critical communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills needed to thrive in work and in life.

The competitive team consists of eight members: Jacob Iwema, Blake Izaguirre, Andrew Krzysztofiak, Quinn Palacios, Imanol Pinon-Cortes, Payton Roskos, Tyler Shallwani and Alejandro Villanueva. The Video Gaming Club sponsor is Mrs. Janet Meyers.
