Oak Lawn Community High School Presents How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying

Fall Musical

The Oak Lawn Community High School Drama Program is well-known for being one of the top programs on the Southside. In past years, the team has returned home from the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Drama State Competition with several accolades, including first and second place state championship trophies.

This year’s musical is How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. The story concerns young, ambitious J. Pierrepont Finch, who, with the help of the book How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, rises from window washer to chairman of the board of the World Wide Wicket Company while trying to avoid certain employees trying to stop his meteoric rise and dealing with the romantic advances of a secretary falling head over heels for him.

Theater director Billy Denton said, “I love classic musicals, and while this one may not be as well-known as other Broadway shows, it’s a great comedy with many memorable roles and songs for the students and audience members to enjoy. We’ve had a lot of new talent step up for this demanding show, and I’m excited to see how their hard work pays off for the public performances.”
