Oak Lawn Firefighters Rescue 2 Dogs, 1 Cat In House Fire

Oak Lawn fire crews quickly extinguish fire in single-family home on Wednesday afternoon and save the family pets.

OAK LAWN, IL -- Firefighters quickly extinguished a blaze in a single-family home Wednesday afternoon in Oak Lawn. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Firefighters were able to save the family pets.

Around 2:20 p.m., the Oak Lawn Fire Department received a call for a residential fire in the 4900 block of Spring Road. The homeowner was able to escape the house and was outside when firefighters arrived. A fire in the living room was extinguished, and kept from spreading to the rest of house. Firefighters also rescued two dogs and one cat. There were no injuries.
