OAK LAWN, IL—UPDATE, 6:29 p.m. Saturday, July 4—Provided the weather cooperates, fireworks at Richards High School are still on for Saturday, July 4, the Oak Lawn Park District said in an email to Patch.

"Gates will have a delayed opening until the rain clears with the fireworks hoping to start a 9 p.m," the park district said.

Gates will be open for bleacher seating, and fireworks blast off at 9:15 p.m. at Richards High School, 10601 S. Central Ave. (106th Street and Saturday, 106th Street and Central Avenue. Gates open at 6 p.m., fireworks blast off at 9:15 p.m.

Parking is available in the south lot off 107th Street. Please note that the Oak Lawn Police Department will have street closures and restricted access in the surrounding area, so allowing for extra travel time is recommended.
