Oak Lawn Fourth of July Fireworks Blast Off At Richards HS

OAK LAWN, IL — Staying in town for the Fourth of July? The Oak Lawn Park District has plenty of activities lined up to keep you entertained this weekend.

Fourth of July Golf Scramble

Join the Fourth of July Scramble at Stony Creek Golf Course, 5850 W. 103rd St. The scramble has a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Thursday, July 4.

The cost to play is $60 per player and includes greens fee, cart fee, range balls, drink ticket, lunch and prizes. Sign up at the Stony Creek Pro Shop or register online.

Central Pool

Central Pool & Centennial Aquatic Center, 9400 S. Kenton Ave., Oak Lawn, will be open for early lap swim from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. on July 4. Drop in $6 residents/$8 non-resident.

The pool will reopen at 11 a.m. for open swim through 4 p.m. Drop-in is $7 per person.

Fireworks

Fourth of July fireworks will be blasted later in the evening at Richards High School. 106th Street and Central Avenue, Bring your oohs, ahhs, blankets, chairs and snacks and enjoy a spectacular fireworks show, starting at dusk.

Clean Up

There is going to be a lot of fireworks debris so join parks mascot Duke Mallard’s Ultimate Kleaning Krew, so grab your family, friends and a garbage bag. Find your nearest park and help pick up some trash July 5. Clean up is going on all day.
