Oak Lawn-Hometown 2017 Sex Offender Safety Map

There are a combined 35 sex offenders living in the Oak Lawn-Hometown community.

OAK LAWN-HOMETOWN, IL -- Fall is a good time to take inventory of who is living in your neighborhood, especially before the kids go out trick or treating. In accordance with the Illinois Sex Offender Registration Act, local law enforcement is required to make at least one in-person, random check at the registered sex offender’s residence. You can also periodically check the registry throughout the rest of year to see if there are any changes.

There are currently 35 registered sex offenders living in the Oak Lawn and Hometown communities combined; three are incarcerated in the Illinois Department of Corrections and one says he’s moving. Of the 35 living in Oak Lawn and Hometown, 31 are classified sexual predators.

Registered sex offenders are prohibited from passing out candy on Halloween. They may not appear in public wearing a Halloween costume or other child-centered character, such as Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny. Registered sex offenders, however, may wear a Halloween costume in their home, according to the Illinois Sex Offender Registry.
