Oak Lawn-Hometown School District Community Leaf Raking Day is Nov 16
Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 is looking for volunteers for its annual Community Leaf Raking Day on November 16.

Don’t miss the 2024 Community Leaf Raking Event on November 16. Last year, over 100 volunteers came out to rake leaves for the elderly and those otherwise not able to do so in the Oak Lawn and Hometown Communities.
“We want to make sure our students grow up and know the value of generosity and the value of service. The annual leaf-raking event really helps instill those values in our kids. It is a great day for families to come together and do something to help those in our community who cannot always help themselves,” — Paul Enderle, Superintendent.
Just like years prior, the raked leaves will be picked up and transported to the D123 Community Garden to form the base of a compost that will be used during next year's planting season.
