Oak Lawn Man Accused of Forging Prescription for 180 Hydrocodone
Prosecutor said Oak Lawn man presented fake prescription to get 180 opioid-based hydrocodone pills.

OAK LAWN, IL -- An Oak Lawn man is accused of forging a prescription to fraudulently obtain hydrocodone from a drug store, prosecutors said. Aziz Zater, 39, appeared before Cook County Judge John Mahoney on a charge of forgery.
According to the charges, on Dec. 22, 2017, Zatar went to Barcus Pharmacy, 4708 W 103rd St., Oak Lawn. He allegedly presented his driver’s license where he picked up a prescription for 180 hydrocodone. The store kept a copy of Zatar’s driver’s license. It was later determined that Zatar used a prescription from a nurse practitioner, the prosecutor said. The nurse later confirmed that she never wrote the prescription and that Zatar was not a patient.
Zatar was arrested on Feb. 6. The prosecutor said he was identified by the pharmacy technician. He was released on a $10,000 I-bond. Zatar’s next court date is Feb. 22 in Bridgeview.
