Oak Lawn Man On FBI's Most Wanted Fugitive List Turned Over To CPD: COPS
FBI turns heavily tattooed fugitive and suspect in teen's murder to Chicago police at O'Hare International Airport after eight-year run.

OAK LAWN, IL -- An Oak Lawn man and one of the FBI’s ten most wanted fugitives was turned over to Chicago police Sunday morning following his arrest the day before in Mexico. Luis Macedo, 29, was wanted for his alleged role in the murder of 15-year-old Alex Arellano. A warrant was issued for the reputed gang member’s arrest after he was identified as a participant in the South Side teen’s 2009 murder. Chicago police maintain that Latin King gang members shot and beat, and then set Arellano on fire.
A heavily tattooed Macedo was placed into the custody of Chicago police at O’Hare International Airport. Macedo was located and arrested in coordination with the FBI at his blue collar job in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, on Saturday. The former fugitive spent eight years on the lam, police said. Macedo is scheduled for a bond hearing Tuesday at the Leighton Criminal Courts Building at 26th and California.
