Oak Lawn Man Robbed At Gunpoint In Parking Lot: Police

OAK LAWN, IL -- A gang of three robbed a man at gunpoint as he was exiting his hie vehicle in the parking lot of his building Wednesday evening, Oak Lawn police said in a news release. The three male black subjects approached the man and demanded his money. Police said one of them was armed with a handgun.

The robbery unfolded in the 4700 block of West 101st Street around 10:40 p.m. After grabbing the man’s valuables three suspects, described in their late teens or early twenties, fled in a white Dodge van, police said. The van was found ditched at 114th Street and Cicero Avenue in Alsip. The unoccupied vehicle had been reported stolen from Lansing.

The man’s belongings were recovered from the van. The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact the Oak Lawn Police Department at 708-422-8292.
