Oak Lawn Ice Arena Rising Stars Collect Treats For The Troops

The Oak Lawn Ice Arena's Rising Stars Skating School are collecting bags of candy to be sent to the troops overseas through Nov. 7.

The Oak Lawn Park District’s Ice Arena will hold its 10th Annual Treats for Troops collection throughout the month of October and into November. Participants of the Ice Arena’s Rising Stars Skating School will decorate treat bags and collect Halloween candy to be sent to the troops.

The public is also encouraged to participate by dropping off bags of candy to the Ice Arena, 9320 S. Kenton Ave, by Saturday, November 7th. If you wish, you may also include a handwritten note in your bag and include the change for postage. Last year over 800 pounds of treats were collected.
