Oak Lawn Park District Finalizes Plans For 'Party In The Park'

OAK LAWN, IL -- After the parade, the fun continues at the Oak Lawn Park District’s Fourth of July ‘Party In The Park.’ The party starts at noon at Memorial Park, 102nd Street and Major Avenue. In honor of the park district’s 75th anniversary, this event is FREE.
‘Party In the Park’ runs from noon to 4 p.m. and features a whole slew of family-friendly activities, including storytelling, games and crafts, magic show, bingo, a giant slip ‘n slide, fishing derby, wiffle ball, carnival games and contests to test your wits and skill.
Concessions are for sale at food trucks, and, yes, they take plastic.

Schedule of activities for July 4, 2019:
Noon to 1 p.m. -- Wiffle Ball Home Run Derby
12:15 p.m. SHARP -- Treasure Hunt
Noon to 3 p.m. -- Hot Shot
Noon to 3:30 p.m. -- Fishing Derby
1 to 2 p.m. -- Spikeball, judo demonstration,
1 to 3 p.m. -- Archery, Longest Drive Mini Putt
2 to 3 p.m. -- Dodgeball

The County Fair Foods Watermelon Eating Contest returns, with registration starting at noon. There are two contests for adults 17 and up, and youth ages 10 to 16. Contests start at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Don’t forget the fireworks show at Richards High School, 106th Street and Central Avenue. The gate opens at 6 p.m. GAC Entertainment will be providing the beats while you stake out your spot. The ‘works shoot off at dusk (9-ish).
