Oak Lawn Park District Opens Central Pool Under New Rules

Central Pool is open for lap swimming, diving, swimming lessons, team practices and therapy use. Reservations required .

OAK LAWN, IL — The Illinois Department of Health has given licensed pools the go-ahead to open for certain water activities. During phase 3 of the Restore Illinois Plan, Central Pool, 9400 S Kenton Ave. in Oak Lawn will be open for lap swimming, diving, swimming lessons and therapy pool use. The guidelines do not include open swimming.

Early bird lap swim resumes from 7 to 9 a.m. Monday through Saturday, for ages 16 and up. There is a limit of ten people in the pool, and swimmers must practice social distancing while in the water. Patrons must have a reservation to attend lap swimming, which can be made up to one week in advance by calling 708-857-2225.

Swim lessons for Splish Splash and Levels 4 and 5 are set to begin Saturday, June 20. Visit the Oak Lawn Park District for more information or to register for swim lessons.

When not in the water, swimmers must wear face coverings in the facility and on the pool deck, in accordance with IDPH guidelines.
