OAK LAWN, IL -- Oak Lawn Park District pools open the summer season over the Memorial Day weekend, which is predicted to be a hot one. The pools offer a cool and affordable option for residents looking to beat the heat.
Central Pool, 9400 S. Kenton Ave., opens Saturday May 26 through Monday May 28. Pool hours are noon to 5 p.m. This pool features a diving board and wading pool. Central Pool will close for the season Aug. 19.
Centennial Aquatic Center at 94th Street and Nashville Avenue, is set to open Saturday, June 2 and Sunday, June 3. Pool hours are noon to 5 p.m. This pool features an open flume water slide, a drop slide, diving board, wading pool, splash pad and sand volleyball court. Centennial pool will close on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3.

The splash pads are also up and running at Memorial Park (102nd Street and Major Avenue), Sullivan Park (99th Street and Kostner Avenue), and Phillips Park (53rd Court and Alexander Avenue).
If you use the pool facilities often, you might want to consider a pool membership. A pool membership grants members admission to both pools during open swim sessions. Passes cost:

- Individual (age 3-59), $135 (resident); $199 (non-resident)
- Senior (age 60 and up), $115 (resident); $169 (non-resident)
- Family of two, $185 (resident), $269 (non-resident)
- Additional infant (age 2 and under), $25
- Additional individual (age 3 and up), $40
- Additional caregiver (age 16 and up), $55
Daily rates are also available. Memberships can be purchased at the Oak Lawn Ice Arena, Oak View Center, Oak Lawn Racquet Center and the Oak Lawn Pavilion.
