Oak Lawn Park District Prepares Splash Pads And Pool For Summer 2022 Opening

OAK LAWN, IL – Lots of work has been done to prepare for the warm weather that is finally here. Preventative maintenance, repairs, and cleaning work have been done across the Oak Lawn Park District in preparation to open up Oak Lawn’s splash pads and community pools. Many opportunities for residents to cool down during the hot summer await.

Central Pool (9400 S. Kenton Ave.), has received a new pool liner and the slide has been painted and will be ready to open Memorial Day Weekend (Saturday, May 28). The pool will be open Monday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday through Sunday 12:30 to 6 p.m. Admission is as follows:

  • Infant (ages 2 & under), $6 (residents); $8 (non-residents
  • Individual (ages 3-59), $10 (residents); $15 (non-residents)
  • Senior (ages 60 & up), $9 (residents); $13 (non-residents)

Centennial Aquatic Center (94th & Nashville Ave.) will open to the public on Saturday, June 4. Patrons can enjoy the 42-foot slide, 32-foot drop slide, diving board, wading pool, splash pad and sand volleyball court. Pool hours are Monday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Friday through Sunday 12:30 to 6 p.m. Evening hours are 8 to -9:50 p.m.

The Splash Pads at Memorial Park (102nd & Major) and Centennial Park are both currently available for everyone to use.

“Our entire team from maintenance to recreation have been working all spring to make sure everything is ready to go,” Oak Lawn Parks executive director Tom Hartwig said. “We know a lot of people have been waiting a long time to get outside and enjoy the sunshine at our pools and splash pads.”
