Oak Lawn Police And Fire Planning Training Drill Monday At OLCHS
Oak Lawn police and fire will be conducting an active shooter drill at Oak Lawn Community High School on Monday, Sept. 30.

OAK LAWN, IL — The Oak Lawn Police and Fire Departments will be conducting an active shooter drill at Oak Lawn Community High School on Monday, Sept. 30. First responders will be conducting training inside the school building from 4 p.m. to midnight. During the training, residents may see a number of uniformed police officers and firefighters entering the building at 9400 Southwest Highway.
Emergency vehicles may also be seen on the campus at different times during the training event. The training is being coordinated with school personnel and is not an actual emergency. OLPD and OLFD do not anticipate any disruption to traffic or parking around the campus during training. The exercise is part of Oak Lawn’s ongoing efforts to promote community safety and preparedness, as mandated by the Illinois Safe Schools Act.
So if you see someone freaking out on Facebook or other social media -- remind that person that it’s only a drill.
