Oak Lawn Police Release Results From Holiday Traffic Campaign

Oak Lawn police ramped up enforcement efforts leading up to the holidays, adding 106 hours of traffic enforcement.

OAK LAWN, IL — The Oak Lawn Police Department arrested four drivers for driving under the influence during its “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” enforcement campaign in the days leading up to the holidays.

Oak Lawn police ramped up its usual enforcement efforts, adding 106 hours of traffic enforcement. From Dec. 16 through Jan. 2, the police department showed zero tolerance for impaired driving. In addition to the impaired driving arrests, Oak Lawn police officers issued the following citations during the holiday enforcement ramp up:

  • 213 seat belt tickets
  • 16 speeding tickets
  • 4 suspended/revoked/no driver’s license arrests
  • 41 miscellaneous traffic violations

The Click It or Ticket/Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over mobilization was made possible with federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
