Oak Lawn Rotary Plans Patriot Day Ceremony

Rotarians plan ceremony at First Responders Monument at Oak Lawn Metra Patriot Station this Friday, Sept. 11.

The Oak Lawn Rotary will hold a brief ceremony in memory of the victims of the terror attacks on the United States on Sept. 11, 2001.

The ceremony will be held at 9:11 a.m. this Friday, Sept. 11, by the First Responders Monument at the Oak Lawn Patriot Metra Station off 95th Street at 9525 S. Tulley Ave.

The monument incorporates beams from the fallen World Trade Center and was created by internationally renowned artist Eric Blum.

Residents who can’t make the ceremony are encouraged to stop by the monument on Friday, for a moment of quiet reflection.
