OAK LAWN, IL — Back in 2013, the Oak Lawn Community High School boys bowling team placed fifth at the Illinois High School Association state finals. Since then, the Spartans have been chasing another finish like that.

Last weekend in O’Fallon, IL, Oak Lawn did it. The Spartans finished tenth in the state. Senior Charlie Dell led the way and finished tied for tenth place as an individual. That made him an All-State medalist. Dell is the third All-State bowler from Oak Lawn and the first to do it since 2005.

“Charlie was rolling well all weekend,” OLCHS head coach Kevin Walery said. “Congratulations to Charlie, Justin Canvin, David Bush, Vinny McBrien, Peter Garcia, Zach Shane, Decimus Pecina, Ethan Aguinaga, and Coach Neubauer on this historic season. We are so proud of them all. Great work, Spartans.”
