Oak Lawn SRASA Represented In Frontier League All-Star Skills Contest
The Special Recreation Athletic Support Association logo will appear on Frontier League All-Star jersey July 11 at Ozinga Field.

OAK LAWN, IL — The Windy City ThunderBolts have tapped the Oak Lawn Special Recreation Athletic Support Association (SRASA) as one of the four non-profit organizations that will be represented at the 2023 Frontier League Skills Competition on Tuesday, July 11 at Ozinga Field in Crestwood.
The skills competition will feature four teams of five Frontier League all-stars each, competing against one another in a variety of baseball skills, including hitting, bunting, throwing and home run hitting. Each of the five-man teams will be representing a non-profit organization. The overall winning team’s non-profit organization will receive a $2,000 donation. There will be further donations given out to the NPOs of individual contest winners.
As one of the four non-profits taking part in the skills competition, each of the five players on one of the four teams will be wearing special jerseys that feature the SRASA logo. SRASA is a parent organization that raises money and other in-kind donations to enhance the experience of all athletic participants enrolled in the Oak Lawn Special Recreation programs. The program draws children and adults from Bridgeview, Burbank, Evergreen Park, Chicago Ridge, Palos Heights, Crestwood and Hometown.
SRASA offers a wide range of programs throughout many Cook County communities with a mission of positively impacting residents with disabilities through diverse recreation opportunities and community services. The program also provides quality Special Olympics training programs in several sports for the athletes . The group was formed to help those athletes and their families with costs that go beyond the normal registration, such as uniforms and equipment.

The Frontier League Skills Competition begins at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11, at Ozinga Field, 14011 S. Kenton Ave., Crestwood. After the event, fans are invited onto the field to play catch and get autographs from all of the Frontier League all-stars. The All-Star game will be played the next evening on July 12.
