Oak Lawn Store Sells Winning $250K Little Lotto Ticket

Lightning strikes again at Foodie Foods when it sells its second $250,000 winning ticket in six years.

An Oak Lawn convenience store sold the winning Little Lotto ticket on Thursday making some lucky winner $250,000 richer.

The winner, who has yet to step forward, bought the ticket at The player matched the winning numbers--2, 9, 11, 12 and 22—in Thursday’s lotto pick.

Cashier Ronnie Niazi didn’t know which of his co-workers sold the winning ticket, only that it had been sold sometime on Thursday.

“We do pretty good here,” Niazi said. “It’s a neighborhood store and the neighborhood is behind us. We have good atmosphere here.”

Karen and Bob Kelly come all the way from 79th Street and Pulaski Road by Bogan High School to play their lotto numbers at the Oak Lawn convenience store.

“I’m so happy for this store,” Karen said, spending about five minutes picking her numbers. “They’re so nice here.”

This is the second time in six years that Foodies has sold a quarter million dollar jackpot winner.

Illinois Lottery spokeswoman Liz Leonard said it usually takes a week for a winner of a big ticket to step forward.

Foodies will receive $2,500 for selling the winning ticket, one-percent of the jackpot amount.

Little Lotto is picked live every night at 9:22 p.m. on WGN-TV.
