Oak Lawn Students Host Field Day Fundaiser For Project Fire Buddies

Kids ages 5 to 11 are invited to an awesome field day Saturday, May 11, at Oak Lawn Community High School. $5 admission for kids.

OAK LAWN, IL — Members of the student council and student helpers club will host an old-fashioned field day for kids this Saturday, May 11, at Oak Lawn Community High School for Project Fire Buddies. The games run from 9 to 11 a.m. on the football field, 9400 Southwest Highway. All families in the community are welcome.

Last year students were so moved by Oak Lawn firefighters who came to discuss Project Fire Buddies that they wanted to help. Since then, OLCHS students have partnered with the Oak Lawn Fire Department to bring awareness to the program that brings joy and support to sick children and their families.

Kids ages 5 to 11 can run around and help critically ill children at the same time by competing in a wide variety of activities including three-legged race, army crawl race, 50-yard dash, sack race, soccer and dress-up relays, a hula hoop marathon and much more.
