Oak Lawn's Fleetest Feet Run in 2016 Chicago Marathon

CHICAGO, IL -- More than 70 Oak Lawn residents ran in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Sunday. The 26.2-mile course took runners through 29 Chicago neighborhoods, that went all the way north to Wrigley Field and south to US Cellular Field.
Thomas Zero, 31 was the first Oak Lawn man to cross the finish line at 3:06:39 according to unofficial Chicago Marathon results. Maggie Corner, 25, finished first among Oak Lawn women running in the 26.2-mile race for the second year in a row, finishing with a time of 3:30:59.
Oak Lawn’s other top finishers included:
- Dan Kittivanichkuikrai, 35 (35-39 age group), 3:13:12
- John Sepiak, 40 (40-44 age group) 3:48:18
- Kathy Ogean, 38 (35-39) 3:57:36
- Kathleen Murphy, 29 (25-29 age group) 4:04:33
Elite runners from Kenya dominated the race. Kenyan Abel Kirui finished first with a time of 2:11:22, beating out last year’s champion and fellow Kenyan Dickson Chum in the final mile. Florence Kiplagat, 29, was the top female finisher clocking in at 2:22:31. Results are still unofficial.
