Oak Lawn's Summer Concerts Open Sunday With Chicago Skyliners
The Chicago Skyliners will fill the air with music from the Big Band era this Sunday, June 3, on the village green.

OAK LAWN, IL -- Oak Lawn’s summer concert series kicks off this Sunday June 3 on the village green. The Chicago Skyliners Big Band will fill the air with music from the Big Band era from 7 to 9:30 p.m. The concert is FREE.
Now in their 30th year, the Chicago Skyliners have been keeping the memory of the Big Band era alive -- America’s greatest contribution to world music history. The house band at Berwyn’s legendary Fitzgerald’s Nightclub, the Chicago Skyliners’ following has grown to become one of the top Big Bands in Chicag0 region.
The band’s repertoire features contemporary arrangements of traditional big band hits, including the music of Count Basie, Buddy Rich, Sammy Nestico, Stan Kenton and Maynard Ferguson to name a few. Jazziz Magazine said, “The band has a surplus of exceptional soloists coupled with high powered ensemble playing.”

Bring your blankets, lawn chairs and snacks. Refreshments will also be available for purchase during concerts and movies. Patrons may bring their own beer and wine to summer concerts. Don't forget the mosquito repellant.
The concert will take place the village green across from Oak Lawn Village Hall at 9466 S. Raymond Ave.
Also for your comfort, temporary restroom facilities will be set up outdoors. The lobby at village hall (9446 S. Raymond Ave.) will also be open with restroom access available during concerts.
