OL Arts Commission Plans 'Peace Love Art' T-Shirt Design Contest

OAK LAWN, IL -- Unleash your inner artist by entering the Oak Lawn Arts Commission’s “Peace, Love ‘n Art” T-shirt design competition. The deadline for entering is May 1. The winner of the competition will receive $100.

The contest is open to Oak Lawn residents of all ages. Residents may enter up to three designs. Here are the rules:

• The design must clearly convey the theme “Peace, Love n’ Art.”
• Design must fill an 8X11-inch space;
• May include graphics, words, or both;
• Can be black-and-white or 1 to 3 colors

Entries will be judged based on:

• Originality -- Artwork must be the sole creation of the artist. Designs cannot contain copyrighted images or artwork copied from another source (e.g. clip art).
• Artistry -- The image is well-designed and appropriate
• Message – Peace, Love ‘n Art!
• Appeal -- The design would appeal to a wide audience.

Entrants may submit the completed entry from for each entry and a jpg with a resolution of at least 300dpi to maryludukic@gmail.com; or mail unfolded physical artwork to: Attn: Oak Lawn Arts Commission, Village of Oak Lawn, 9446 S. Raymond Ave., Oak Lawn, IL 60453. Please indicate on envelope “2018 T-Shirt Contest. Physical artwork may also be hand-delivered to the village clerk’s office on the second floor. The Oak Lawn Arts Commission assumes no responsibility for lost, late, delayed or destroyed entries. Submissions will not be returned. Only one $100 prize will be awarded. The winner will be notified by phone or email. The winning entry will be become the property of the Oak Lawn Arts Commission. The winning “Peace, Love ‘n Art” T-shirts will be sold at future community events with proceeds going back to community arts programing. The Oak Lawn Arts Commission works to create an artistic environment in our community that involves all aspects of the arts, visual as well as dramatic and musical.
