OLCHS Ancora Choir To Sing With 2024 Rock Hall Inductee Foreigner
Oak Lawn Community High School advanced choir win 97.1 contest to sing with Foreigner Aug. 24 at Credit 1 Amphitheater in Tinley Park.

OAK LAWN, IL — Oak Lawn Community High School’s advanced choir, better known as Ancora, will perform live with the internationally famous 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy Award-winning band Foreigner, and they will not be cold as ice.
In early April, Ancora teacher Samantha Elliott submitted a video audition to 97.1 The Drive’s radio contest for local choirs to sing with the band. They collaborated on an “I Want To Know What Love Is” arrangement as a class and made a video recording to submit to the radio station for review.
Out of all of the submissions in the area, Ancora was chosen as the winner.

“Both TJ Kahriman and Tim Krupa shared the audition information with me and I knew I had to at least try,” Elliott said. “This will be a truly unique experience for these students and we can not wait to Rock out with the band.”
The concert will take place on August 24 at the Credit 1 Amphitheater in Tinley Park.
