OLCHS Athletic Director Recognized 'Certified Athletic Administrator'

OAK LAWN, IL — In any field of work, people strive to be the best, to be elite. For Oak Lawn Community High School athletic director Jeremey Cryan, he is striving to accomplish that feat for greater good. Last week in Indianapolis, Ind., he was recognized by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association as a Certified Athletic Administrator.

In order to earn this elite distinction, Cryan demonstrated the highest level of knowledge and expertise in the field of interscholastic athletic administration. The voluntary certification process included a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s educational background, experience, and professional contributions, as well as a rigorous, comprehensive written examination.

“Our coaches and athletes are constantly learning and honing their craft, and the certification process for me has been a great path to increasing my knowledge on how to create a great experience for everyone involved in Spartan athletics, from our athletes, coaches, and community members,” Cryan said. “Being able to network with ADs from across the state and nation has allowed me to bring back and incorporate best practices to our department that will continue to help us build and create quality programs.”

The NIAAA is an accredited organization and is the professional organization for interscholastic athletic administrators. The current individual membership of more than 12,000, consisting of members from all 50 states and the District of Columbia, as well as internationally.
