OLCHS Freshman Named Park District's 'Volunteer of the Month'

OAK LAWN, IL -- An Oak Lawn Community High School freshman was named the Oak Lawn Park District’s “Volunteer of the Month. Emily Mallo was recognized for her work for the park district’s special recreation program. She was honored at the board meeting last month at the Oak View Center.

Emily’s mother Karrie said her daughter volunteers for the special recreation program every chance can get.

“It is truly her passion,” her mother said. “This year Emily was able to help with the basketball program in assisting with refereeing, keeping the scoreboard and helping with the tournament held at Oak Lawn Community High School.”
