OLCHS, Reavis Honor Fallen CPD Alum Gary And Marmolejo
Family members of fallen CPD Officers Conrad Gary and Eduardo Marmolejo at OLCHS-Reavis basketball game.
BURBANK, IL -- Reavis and Oak Lawn Community High School put aside their rivalry to honor the families of fallen Chicago Police Officers Conrad Gary and Eduardo Marmolejo. Students sold t-shirts and took donations at the door during Tuesday's basketball game between the Spartans and Rams. The proceeds will go toward supporting the late officers' families and to creating scholarships in their names.
The officers, who were killed in the line of duty in December, had ties to both schools. Gary and his brothers were graduates of OLCHS. Gary’s wife, Kelly Kubil, is a Reavis High School alum, as was Marmolejo. Several of Marmolejo’s family members are current or former students at Reavis.
The scholarships being established in the officers' names will be awarded to an OLCHS and Reavis student looking to pursue a career in law enforcement.
