OAK LAWN, IL — The setter on a volleyball team is essentially the straw that stirs the drink. He is the engine that drives the machine. Oak Lawn Community High School senior Caden Figus is that catalyst for the boys volleyball team.

As a freshman, he earned the right to be that floor general for the Spartans. And now four years later, he has turned into a deadly threat for opponents to try and stop. Whether it is setting up kills or scoring aces with a jump serve and timely hitting, Figus has truly come into his own.

“Caden is a four-year varsity starter,” head coach Matt Hunt said. “He began his freshman year as the starting setter and has blossomed into an elite threat on the court. Caden is looking at a few colleges and has his sights set on playing volleyball next year.”
