OAK LAWN, IL — Oak Lawn Community High School senior Victoria Prause has been selected as a College Board National Recognition Program Awardee and has received the National Hispanic Recognition Award.

Eligible students have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and have excelled on the PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10 or earned a score of 3 or higher on two or more AP Exams; and are African American or Black, Hispanic American or Latinx, Indigenous, and/or attend school in a rural area or small town. Victoria accomplished these milestones during an immensely demanding period of her high school career.

“Tori is an accomplished young woman who is goal-driven in her studies as well as her extracurricular activities,” Ashley Madsen, Tori’s school counselor said. “Having known her in both areas, she has proven to persist and excel in anything she puts her mind to, being a strong student and role model. Tori is well-deserving of this academic recognition.”

Jeff Pastiak, Tori’s theater director, described Tori as “a leader in the theater program since her freshman year who has continued to push our program to new heights as our club president. Tori is a creative, disciplined, and caring individual who has earned every bit of this recognition.”

The entire Spartan community is thrilled that Tori has earned this recognition. We are very proud of her for her achievements in her classrooms and on College Board assessments. These programs help students from underrepresented backgrounds stand out to colleges during admissions.
