OLCHS Student Dean Hamed Askar Recognized For Student Support
Oak Lawn Community High School dean Hamed Askar received the ISBE Student Support Personnel Award for his lasting impact on students.

OAK LAWN, IL — An Oak Lawn Community High School student dean has been recognized by the Illinois State Board of Recognition for his work with students. Hamed Askar received a Special Recognition Student Support Personnel Award.
The annual Those Who Excel & Teacher of the Year Awards celebrate classroom teachers, administrators, teams, volunteers, and school support personnel who have made lasting impacts on the students, families, and fellow educators in their school communities.
“Mr. Askar is an outstanding dean and all-around human being,” OLCHS Principal Jeana Lietz said. “He brings patience, kindness and understanding to his job and his interactions with students. Because he is an OLCHS alum, he has a vested interest in the Oak Lawn community, and it shows in his work. Students, parents, and staff members have only kind words and praise to share about Mr. Askar. We are lucky to have him as a member of our OLCHS staff.”
