OLCHS Students Fulfill Christmas Wishes With Operation Santa
Oak Lawn Community High School students embark on Operation Santa to fulfill Christmas wishes of Oak Lawn residents in need, Dec. 4-8.

OAK LAWN, IL -- Math teacher Ellen Kruger is continuing the school-wide Operation Santa Claus tradition at Oak Lawn Community High School. Since 2005, during the holiday season, Kruger and OLCHS students have collected over 3,140 gifts and over $13,000 in cash and gift cards for Oak Lawn residents. This is the 13th year of the event.
From Dec. 4 to Dec. 8, Christmas trees will be available in the faculty and student cafeterias with candy canes. Each candy cane will have a gift tag identifying a person, his/her age, and desired wish or need. Wishes often include clothing, gym shoes, small appliances, gas cards, grocery cards, musical instruments, or toys. Wrapping paper, bags, gift boxes, ribbons, and gift tags are also needed.
Community members wishing to contribute gift cards, wrapping paper, bags, gift boxes, ribbons, or gift tags can drop them off at the visitor entrance at Oak Lawn Community High School, 9400 Southwest Highway, Oak Lawn, IL, 60453. For more information please call 708-424-5200.
