OLCHS Taking Formal Wear Donations For Cinderella's Closet Prom Resale
Oak Lawn Community High School is accepting gently used formal dresses and accessories for prom resale Feb. 11.
OAK LAWN, IL — Oak Lawn Community High School will help Cinderella’s Closet turn dresses into dreams at the prom dress resale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11. The program is designed to help girls acquire prom gear at a significantly lower cost. The sale is open to all.
The mission of Cinderella’s Closet is to provide an affordable option for dresses for prom and graduation events for female students. Each year, many dresses are bought for hundreds of dollars and never worn again. Through Cinderella’s Closet, parents, students, and community members have an opportunity to donate dry-cleaned dresses, shoes, and unopened make-up to provide joy and happiness for another student.
Sponsored by the school’s Students Against Destructive Decisions Chapter and Cheerleading Coach Maria Vanderwarren, dresses will be sold for $10 each and all proceeds will be donated to SADD’s post-prom cruise.
