OLHMS create prom cards for Richards

Sixth graders ask students to choose wisely, get home safely

When Richards High School students walk into prom at the Museum of Science and Industry on Friday, May 19 the thoughts of sixth graders will greet them.

Students at Oak Lawn Hometown Middle School once again created prom cards, a project now in its sixth year, for Richards.

The cards ask Richards students to choose wisely and return home safely on prom night.

Parents and teachers talk all the time with teenagers about these issues. Younger students, however, offer a new voice for the messages of safety.

The project also features Kerr Middle School (for Eisenhower High School) and Independence Junior High School (for Shepard High School) in District 218.
