Well-rounded students become successful leaders for life.
National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) recognizes students for their leadership roles in the community and for their academics strengths and achievements. OLHMS currently recognizes 32 students that possess these qualities. At the end of the first trimester, 7th and 8th grade students that qualify will have the opportunity to join NJHS.
The main focus of NJHS is leadership and service. Students are encouraged to be academic leaders, support their peers, and serve their community. The ultimate goal of the organization is to build character and values among the membership. NJHS students participate in many community events like Open House, PTSA Fundraisers, and other partner organizations.
Currently, members are promoting their yearly fundraiser with Corner Bakery. Anyone who visits Corner Bakery in Oak Lawn on Tuesday, September 24, will not only enjoy a wonderful meal, but 15% of your purchase will be donated to OLHMS National Junior Honor Society.
