Unsung Hero Omar Saleh Leads Spartans Boys Basketball in Blocked Shots, Rebounds
Saleh's contributions in assists go unsung, but he plays a key role in Oak Lawn Community High School boys basketball team's success.

OAK LAWN, IL — As the center on the Oak Lawn Community High School boys basketball team, it’s not difficult to understand that Omar Saleh is leading the team in blocked shots and rebounding. The fact that he also leads the Spartans in assists shows his true versatility and value. In addition, he is also the team’s third leading scorer and plays an important role on the court.
“His contributions sometimes go unsung, but he is a vital part of our team’s success and has been since his varsity debut as a sophomore,” OLCHS head coach Jason Rhodes said. “His numbers off the court are even more impressive than those on it, as he sports a sparkling 4.7 weighted grade point average. Add that to his intangible leadership and effort level, and those are standards that every Spartan basketball player should strive to reach.”
