What on earth is a happy accident?! You might be asking yourself this very question so, let me explain. For me, a happy accident is that moment when you're going about your day to day activities and your path crosses the path of another and something magical and memorable happens. You receive an unexpected happiness and joy out of this chance meeting and your heart can't help but smile.
I had a happy accident today and so did a room full of people who were attending the final show of "West Side Story" at the Oak View Center. Before the show began, the show's producer came out and told us that there was a woman named Barbara in the audience celebrating something special today. Barbara was celebrating her 100th birthday!!! The show's producer asked Barbara to stand up, which she did in one of the top rows. We all clapped for her and then enthusiastically sang "Happy Birthday." This was a special day for Barbara and a special moment for the rest of us. A happy accident for which I'm grateful to have been involved.
