Opa! St. Nicholas Greek Fest Is Back, In Person, Saturday and Sunday
St. Nicholas Orthodox Church's popular Greek Fest returns to Oak Lawn featuring music, Greek cuisine and dancing June 18 and June 19.

OAK LAWN, IL — After two years of going express with Greek-to-go cuisine, St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church’s Greek Fest returns in Oak Lawn June 18 and June 19, along with the dancing, live entertainment and famous cuisine. The fest runs from 3 to 11 p.m. Saturday, and 2 to 10 p.m. Sunday.
St. Nick's Greek Fest is a summer tradition and features some of the best cuisine of outdoor festivals in the south suburbs. The St. Nicholas Ladies Philoptochos Society has food prep down to a science, making their famous baklava, featured on WGN's "Chicago's Best," with a dedicated crack grill team firing up the shish kabob. Festgoers can enjoy plates full of tasty souvlaki, Greek chicken, gyros, pastitsio ("Greek lasagna"), spanakopita, Greek pastries and more. Two bars will be available to serve up libations.
The church will be raffling off cash prizes, including a $5,000 grand prize, and second prize of $2,000 and $1,500 third prize. Tickets are $100 and the winner need not be present.
