Original Pancake House Sets St. Patrick's Day Opening in Oak Lawn

The long awaited opening of the Original Pancake House in Stony Creek Promenade is set for Thursday, March 17.

If you’re looking for some food to sop up all that green bar you drink on St. Patrick’s Day, you may want to drop by The Original Pancake House at Stony Creek Promenade.

The Oak Lawn location will open to the public this Thursday, March 17, at 6:30 a.m., at 10900 S. Cicero Ave. (110th Street and Cicero Avenue).

The Harrigan family have owned The Original Pancake House franchise at 10437 S. Western Ave. in Beverly for over 50 years. The owners use pure whipping cream for coffee, freshly whipped butter, orange juice squeezed daily and batters made from scratch (in house) every single day, according to restaurant’s website.

The new location in Oak Lawn will be the family’s second restaurant. The Original Pancake House national chain was founded in 1953 in Portland, OR, and has over 100 franchises in the United States.

The Harrigans plan to continue serving the same specialities of the house at their new Oak Lawn location that have made their Beverly restaurant a local landmark, such as their famous apple and Dutch baby pancakes. The restaurant will also offer crepes, waffles, omelettes, grits, oatmeal and breakfast meats, including sugar cured ham, sausages, bacon and Canadian bacon.

The Original Pancake House Oak Lawn hours are 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.Monday through Friday, and 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
