Oscar Mayer Wienermobile Headed To Mariano's In Oak Lawn

Come out and meet the hotdoggers, eat some samples and pose with the wienermobile June 28 at Mariano's in Oak Lawn.

OAK LAWN, IL -- The ubiquitous Oscar Mayer Wienermobile is headed to Mariano’s in Oak Lawn this Thursday, June 28. Kids of all ages are invited to join the hotdoggers for samples, specials and pictures with the wienermobile from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mariano’s is located at 111th Street and Cicero Avenue.

The first wienermobile was created in 1936 by Carl Mayer. The 1952 wienermobile is currently on exhibit at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Mich. In 1969, the wienermobile featured Ford Thunderbird tail lights and a Chevy motor home frame. It averaged 187 miles to the gallon, according to the Oscar Mayer website. The 27-foot-long wienermobile is one of six currently criss crossing the United States.
