Package Thieves Prowling Palos Area
Palos Heights police report several residents having packages stolen off their porches. The same suspects were also spotted in Crestwood.

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL -- Palos Heights police are warning residents to be extra cautious with packages being delivered to their homes. Several residents east of Harlem Avenue had their packages stolen off their front porches on Dec. 6. Police believe the thieves are driving a black Nissan, possibly an Altima. The same suspects are also believed to be hitting the Playfield area in Crestwood. Residents who spot suspicious vehicles trolling their neighborhood or persons walking up to their neighbors’ doors are asked to call 911 immediately. Below are some tips to keep your packages from being pilfered:
- Consider a secure alternate delivery location, such as your workplace, instead of your front entryway.
- Have the package sent to a UPS or FedEx location instead of your residence.
- When shipping something of high value request a signature. Either the shipper or recipient of the package can make this request.
