Pair of Richards seniors named Golden Apple Scholars

Webb, Taheny both headed to ISU

Richards High School seniors, now graduates, Grace Taheny and Mackenzie Webb have won a prestigious Golden Apple Scholar Award.

Both Grace and Mackenzie will begin studies -- Grace in math secondary education, Mackenzie in special education -- at Illinois State University this fall.

The Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois program is a teacher preparation and tuition assistance program for high school seniors and freshman and sophomore Illinois college students who have the determination and drive to be highly effective teachers in Illinois schools-of-need.
