Parade Kicks off July 4th Activities

American flags on every other light pole, parents and their kids clothed in red, white , and blue.

OAK LAWN, IL -- The Village of Oak Lawn’s Fourth of July Parade kicked off at 10 a.m. at 95th Street and 51st Ave. and proceeded westbound to 55th Ct.

The Police and Fire departments, Oak Lawn Raiders, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, VFW POST 5220, Oak Lawn Arts Commission, The Boy Band, Oak Lawn Library, Oak Lawn Park District, Chicago Stock Yards Band, Oak Lawn Community High School Band, local organizations, politicians, Benny the Bull and Tommy Hawk were just a few of the parading entities making their way down 95th street as part of their annual tradition to celebrate the Fourth of July.

Families cheered from along the sidelines. Some parade floats even handed out candy and other goodies to the crowds.

Following the parade, all kinds of musical performances and other activities and games went on all day long too. The Oak Lawn Park District's "Party in the Park" did not end until late at night.
