Pediatric Patients Enjoy Solar Eclipse Phenomenon
Patients at the Advocate Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn took part in the nationwide science phenomenon on Monday.

OAK LAWN, IL -- The children at the Advocate Christ Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn were excited to take part in the nationwide "Great American Eclipse" phenomenon on Monday from their hospital beds. Patients were in awe of the extensive television coverage of the event as hospital staff took to the outdoors to view the spectacular site.
The hospital originally planned to have some patients outdoors for the actual viewing, but staff found out at the last-minute that it was not safe to allow them to view the event without pediatric sized viewing glasses so the pediatric viewing part was cancelled.
Hospital doctors, nurses, associates and others caught a glimpse of it outside, including a few who gathered on top of the roof of the garage.
