Plumbers Union Accepting Apprentice Applications
Plumbers Local 130 will be accepting applications for apprenticeships June 16 through July 16.

If you’re a recent high school grad Plumbers Local 130 is accepting applications for its apprenticeship program starting June 16.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and provide a sealed high school diploma or college transcripts or GED certification.
High school seniors who are 17 may also apply with a valid photo high school ID.

Applications can be obtained and dropped off at union halls in Chicago, Joliet and Volo every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The application period runs from June 16 to July 16.
There is a non-refundable application fee of $25; add $10 if you want to purchase the test taking tip book. Only money orders or cashier checks will be accepted.

Union plumbing apprentices start at approximately $16.01 per hour, with salary increases every six months. An apprenticeship lasts for five years. A plumber journeyman earns about $47.25 an hour, according to Local 130’s website.
Chicago Journeyman Plumbers Local 130 also sponsors Chicago’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
